Inquiries about central vacuum systems

Eurovac central vacuum systems are widely suitable for various industries that require efficient collection of dust, sawdust, debris, or other materials. Typical applications include power plants, the metal industry, the wood industry, the paper industry, the concrete industry, the plastics industry, the process industry, and the food industry. The systems are always designed according to the specific application and the material to be collected.
The design primarily takes into account the material to be vacuumed, the required suction power, the number of users, the length of the piping, the location of the vacuum outlets, the piping material, and any simultaneous use. In addition, an assessment is made of whether a portable or fixed solution is needed, what the emptying and maintenance practices are at the site, and whether the operating environment requires special solutions, such as wear-resistant steel, stainless steel, or an ATEX solution.
Eurovac central vacuum systems can also be designed for long ductwork. The system’s performance is not based on a single standard solution; instead, the length and diameter of the ductwork, the number of users, and the type of material to be vacuumed are all taken into account as a whole. For long trunk lines and multiple simultaneous users, a high-pressure vacuum unit and suitable piping are selected to ensure that suction power remains sufficient throughout the entire system.
A central vacuum system can be used to vacuum a wide variety of materials, such as dust, sawdust, ash, sand, gravel, clay, metal shavings, concrete dust, crushed brick, expanded clay aggregate, wool, peat, moss, and other dry materials generated in industrial settings. Final suitability depends on the material’s particle size, weight, abrasiveness, moisture content, and any safety requirements.
The number of concurrent users depends on the system's capacity. In smaller solutions, the system can be sized for one user at a time, whereas larger industrial systems can serve multiple users simultaneously. The number of users is always determined based on the site’s needs, the length of the piping, and the desired level of concurrency.
The piping system is always designed according to the factory layout and operational requirements. Suction points are located where vacuuming is actually needed, and the piping route is designed to ensure smooth operation and keep pressure losses under control. Piping materials are selected based on operating conditions, such as galvanized steel, stainless steel, or acid-resistant steel. The piping is typically attached and supported using existing structures and/or equipment.
Dust, sawdust, metal shavings, concrete, wood dust, and other similar materials can be vacuumed up provided the system is properly sized for them. A pre-separator or cyclone is particularly useful when handling large volumes of material, fine dust, or heavy, abrasive substances. The advantage is that the main filter is subjected to less stress, maintenance intervals are extended, and separation efficiency is improved.
In most cases, yes. A new central vacuum system can be installed in an existing factory in phases, taking the production schedule into account. The installation should be planned so that critical work is carried out at times that are convenient for production, thereby minimizing disruptions to production as much as possible.
The filtration solution depends on the selected system and the material being vacuumed. Systems may utilize, for example, star filters, cartridge filters, PTFE-coated filter media, and manual or automatic filter cleaning. The maintenance interval varies by application and depends on the frequency of use, the amount of dust, and the properties of the material. In practice, the condition of the filters is monitored regularly, and maintenance is performed as needed.
Yes, if the dust is explosive or hazardous to health, the system and its components must be selected in accordance with the requirements of the application. In ATEX zones or for explosive dusts, standard solutions should not be used; instead, equipment specifically designed for that purpose must be used. Separate solutions are also required for highly hazardous dusts, such as asbestos.
The choice of bin or container depends on the volume of waste generated, how often it needs to be emptied, and what type of emptying equipment the customer has available. For smaller applications, a removable waste bin is sufficient, while larger sites require container or skid solutions. Tipping, swap body, or front loader attachments facilitate emptying, reduce manual labor, and speed up waste management. If necessary, emptying can also be performed back into the process.
Suomen Imurikeskus provides installation, commissioning, spare parts, maintenance, and technical support for its systems. User training and maintenance procedures are typically covered at the time of delivery. It is advisable to confirm the availability of spare parts and maintenance services during the quotation phase, based on the specific site and the selected system.
The differences within the Blue Line series primarily relate to capacity, power options, tank size, and portability. Smaller models are suitable for mobile use and medium-sized sites, while larger models are suitable for heavy-duty cleaning sites, long piping systems, and larger volumes of material. The right model is selected based on the amount of material generated, the length of the hoses or piping used, and how the system is intended to be used.
The experts at Suomen Imurikeskus can help you choose the right system, determine the appropriate specifications, and prepare a request for a quote. To find the right solution, start by providing at least the intended application, the materials to be vacuumed, the number of users, the length of the piping or hoses, and any safety requirements.
