How do you handle unusual vacuuming areas?
Check out these 3 examples!

In industrial cleaning, situations regularly arise where the capacity of a standard industrial vacuum cleaner is insufficient. The material to be vacuumed may be exceptionally heavy or toxic, or large quantities of it may need to be removed from confined spaces in a short amount of time. At Suomen Imurikeskus Oy, we have successfully tackled numerous challenging projects over decades, drawing on our experience and utilizing our reliable Eurovac industrial vacuums and highly customized vacuum systems.
Example 1
Efficient chip vacuuming reduces production downtime at the biopower plant
Thermal power plants and biomass power plants that burn wood chips are examples of environments where high suction power is required. The fine dust and wood chips generated by the process require general cleaning, but the decisive advantage is seen during breakdowns and maintenance. For example, when a conveyor or piece of equipment that transports wood chips becomes clogged, there may be several wheelbarrow loads of material piled up in a confined space.
Carrying the material out by hand is not recommended, either in terms of time or occupational safety. For biogas plants of this type, we have implemented central vacuum systems designed for heavy-duty use, in which fixed piping and large hoses are routed directly to the conveyors. Sufficient suction power removes the material quickly, thereby minimizing production downtime.
Example 2
The bullet traps at the shooting range are emptied dust-free directly into a container
The maintenance of indoor shooting ranges also requires solutions suitable for heavy-duty use. At one of our client sites, emptying the bullet traps behind the targets using traditional methods was physically demanding, slow, and released lead and heavy metal dust into the air, posing a health hazard.
The problem was solved using a system based on the Eurovac chip vacuum cleaner, which is widely used in the metal industry. The entire system and the piping routes were customized to meet the site’s specific requirements so that metal shavings can now be vacuumed dust-free directly into a container waiting outside. Work has become faster, and workplace safety has improved significantly.
Example 3
A situation in which insulation sand is vacuumed up, weighed, and bagged all at once
The project, which required specialized expertise, involved a case where thousands of metric tons of insulation sand had to be removed from the insulation chambers of massive silos. It was not enough for the vacuum cleaner to simply remove the material; the insulating sand also had to be simultaneously bagged into large bags for further processing, ensuring that each bag contained exactly the same amount of sand.
The product development team at Suomen Imurikeskus Oy developed a custom vacuum system for the customer, which incorporated a proprietary weighing system. The system weighed the material during the vacuuming and bagging processes, ensuring a seamless production process.

Are we designing a custom vacuum system for you, too?
When a standard model does not meet your company’s requirements for power, capacity, or specific needs, designing the right system begins with a careful assessment of the initial data. Success in handling heavy materials depends on accurately sizing the air velocities, pressure, piping, and system capacity based on the specific material and operating conditions.
