Inquiries about maintenance cabinets and fume hoods

Maintenance cabinets and fume hoods are dust and fume control solutions for workstations where parts are cleaned, maintained, or machined by hand. A maintenance cabinet provides a more enclosed workspace where dust or fumes are kept under control, while a fume hood is suitable for more open work environments where dust, fumes, or particles need to be removed directly from the work surface. One advantage is that extraction in a fume hood occurs downward, away from the user.
The Eurovac service cabinet is available in at least 1.1 kW and 2.2 kW versions. The 1.1 kW model has a maximum airflow of 2,240 m³/h, a maximum pressure of 980 Pa, and a sound level of 74 dB. The 2.2 kW model has a maximum airflow of 2,750 m³/h, a maximum pressure of 1,240 Pa, and a sound level of 76 dB. The service cabinet is equipped with its own dust extraction fan, HEPA 13 filtration, a rotating service table, and a work light. Exhaust air can be vented outside without ducting if necessary.
Yes, the maintenance cabinet can also be connected to an existing dust extraction system upon special request. In addition, it offers the option of using accessories such as an external vacuum cleaner or pneumatic tools.
The work area inside the maintenance cabinet is specifically designed for cleaning and maintaining smaller hand tools, parts, and equipment in a dust-free environment. If the items to be handled are large or irregularly shaped, it is advisable to check the suitability of the work area before purchasing.
The 2.2 kW version offers greater airflow and higher vacuum pressure, making it suitable for heavier-duty or dustier applications. The 1.1 kW version is sufficient for lighter maintenance and cleaning tasks. In practice, the choice is based on how much dust is generated and how demanding the work inside the cabinet is.
The filter replacement interval depends on the amount of dust, the number of operating hours, and how fine or abrasive the material being processed is. In practice, it is advisable to monitor the condition of the filter regularly and replace it when suction power decreases, pressure drop increases, or the filter no longer cleans itself sufficiently.
The maintenance cabinet is suitable for both small businesses and industrial use in situations where work generates dust and a dust-free maintenance area is required. This solution is particularly useful when you want to keep the work environment clean and protect employees from dust.
The maintenance cabinet is best suited for workstations where smaller items are cleaned, maintained, or handled by hand and where dust is generated. It is a good solution, for example, for the maintenance of small machines, parts, and equipment when dust needs to be controlled in an enclosed workspace. A typical application is, for example, repair shops.
The maintenance cabinet is not just a vacuum cleaner, but a complete workstation. Dust is removed directly from the enclosed workspace, thereby reducing the user’s exposure. A standard industrial vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, is a mobile device used to vacuum up dust or debris that has been generated separately. However, various industrial vacuum cleaner models can also be connected to the maintenance cabinet if needed.
The maintenance cabinet must not be marketed as suitable for ATEX applications unless it has been specifically approved for such use. The user manual prohibits use with explosive or hot materials. A separate, purpose-built solution must be selected for explosive dusts.
In the maintenance cabinet, the filter is cleaned manually with compressed air according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The need for cleaning depends on the dust load and frequency of use. In practice, it is advisable to clean the filter whenever suction power begins to decline or when the work generates a lot of fine dust.
The noise level of the 1.1 kW model is approximately 74 dB, and that of the 2.2 kW model is approximately 76 dB. Separate soundproofing is not usually necessary, but if the unit is used for long periods or if the environment is otherwise noisy, the use of hearing protection may be advisable.
The price depends on the model, specifications, and any optional extras. It’s a good idea to confirm what’s included in the delivery during the quotation phase, as it may include, for example, setup, training, or connection accessories in addition to the device itself.
A fume hood is the best choice when you want to work in a more enclosed, dust-protected environment. A fume table is better suited for open-air work, where pieces are handled on a work surface. The differences between models relate to the work method, size, airflow, and the amount of dust or particles generated.
The rotating workbench makes it easier to work on a piece from different angles without constantly lifting or moving it. The work light improves visibility and helps you perform precise work more safely and quickly. Together, these features improve ergonomics and workflow.
Not necessarily, since the maintenance cabinet has its own dust extraction fan. However, an external vacuum cleaner can be a useful accessory in certain applications or when the workpieces being processed shed heavy material, such as rust. In such cases, it is easy to vacuum the cabinet and workpieces clean during operation.
Yes. The maintenance cabinet has a connection for pneumatic tools, and other accessories can also be selected as needed.
