Areas of responsibility

Environmental responsibility

Suomen Imurikeskus Oy's operations are based on the longevity, maintainability and environmental responsibility of the equipment. The equipment and installations we supply improve the air quality and safety of the working environment by reducing the spread of harmful substances. We believe that the most responsible products are those that last for decades and are easy to maintain.

Sustainable design and manufacturing

Our equipment is designed and manufactured with energy efficiency, material sustainability and recyclability in mind. Our products are modular and demountable, making them easy to maintain, upgrade and repair. The availability of spare parts allows for a lifetime of up to 20 years or more.

Responsible behaviour and resource management

All our premises are heated with domestic bioenergy. We monitor water and electricity consumption, heating energy and waste streams on a monthly basis. In 2024, our water consumption was 300 m³, a low level considering the production volume of our company. We aim to further reduce our water use and develop ways to save natural resources. We use REACH-compliant, safe chemicals and update our list of chemicals annually.

Domestic sourcing and a responsible supply chain

We favour domestic, local suppliers and long-term partnerships that enable a responsible supply chain. We prefer to use domestic suppliers of raw materials and components.

Practical measures

  • We develop long-lasting and maintainable equipment - "spare parts before new"
  • We minimise surplus materials in production through careful pre-planning
  • We are reducing packaging materials and switching to recyclable alternatives
  • We upgraded lighting to motion-sensor LED technology
  • We use remote negotiations to reduce travel

Responsibility targets for 2026–2027

  • Managing consumption as part of everyday life - keeping electricity and water moderate and monitoring trends
  • We will continue to improve waste sorting and recycling levels
  • We promote the reuse of materials and the sourcing of sustainable raw materials

Life cycle thinking as part of sustainability

For us, the circular economy is not a separate project, but part of every design decision and product. Long-lasting, maintainable and recyclable solutions help us build a cleaner and more sustainable future - together with our customers.

Social responsibility

People are at the heart of everything we do - in the workplace, in our customers and in the society around us.

For Suomen Imurikeskus Oy, social responsibility means building a safe, fair and prosperous working environment and responsible interaction with all stakeholders.
